The Athens Wildcats Youth Basketball Association (“AWYBA”) is now offering registration for all 1st through 6th grade boys and girls for the 2026-27 recreation basketball season! 

Registration Instructions

Complete all fields in the below form. Once submitted, follow instructions on the following page to complete payment via PayPal. An application is not considered complete until payment has been submitted on the following page.

Season Structure

The season will begin in November for 3rd – 6th grade players and last until early March. 

1st & 2nd grade play will focus on skills & drills in a group station setting, with occasional in-house scrimmages for game experience introduction. There is no travel team option for this age group. Practices will start in January and last until late February (16 total practices).

3rd through 6th grade play will include both a recreation and travel season. Not all players will be chosen for the travel season.

A complete detail of the timeline for recreation and travel will be discussed at the mandatory parents’ meeting for 3rd – 6th grade on September 27th (Athens HS New Gym at 6:00PM).

Season Fees 

For the 2026-2027 season, the per player basketball fee will remain at $50 for all players. Payment will be accepted online via a debit card or credit card – please follow the link to PayPal after you submit the registration below to pay the associated fee.
